Definition
Feminism is a group strategy of women to use their collective force to gain advantage vis-a-vis men. It masquerades under the banner of "equality" but its true nature is is in breeding hostility in women against men and exploiting this resentment to advocate for restriction of male speech, selective vilification of men and shaming of the male gender (ie: pinning the crimes of a few men on all men in their 'rape culture' meme), and warping of laws such as those in family court to put men at a distinct disadvantage in holding on to his own assets and having access to his children. At a mass communications level, feminism works to enhance the perceived value of women and increase the perception of male disposability.
Explanation
Feminism claims to support "equality". Unsurprisingly, they don't define terms. Why not? Because they are comfortable conflating the ideas of equality into one word, hoping people won't notice. In reality, there is equality of opportunity and equality of outcomes. Almost all people support equal opportunity. Feminism instead begins with the wrongheaded assumption that there ought to be equivalent outcomes - despite the various differences between men and women, and the different nature of their work product. Whenever inequalities are identified, feminists automatically jump to the conclusion that the cause is gender bias.
Whereas there is an academic feminism that is forever introducing new concepts and words that express the supposed gender disadvantage women face, very few Americans (and others) are exposing to academic feminism. The brand of feminism they are familiar with is the spirit that is conveyed by the mainstream media, television programming, and movies. The spirit that is conveyed: men are hopeless oafs, women are the moral conscience of the family and society, women are "angelic", women are "victims", women have ample reason to resent and hate men. This kind of feminism is not academic in nature. It is strictly social engineering meant to foster division amongst the masses. It is meant to create an in-group dynamic amongst women and create out-group animosity amongst women towards men. Women watch 32 hours of TV per week . Assuming a girl watches TV from the age of 8, by the time she is 18, she has watched over 16,000 hours of television. The scripts of television have become her life scripts. The fallout we are witnessing in relationships stem from this pernicious influence.
For feminism's advocates, the hope is that men stay atomized, horny, and competing against one another for female favor. In their worldview, even if men have greater power in society, and are more resourceful, collective action taken by many women can overpower legions of individual men, who scarcely understand how the landscape is being molded by feminism to put them at a distinct disadvantage personally and professionally.
