Definition
Primitive Instinct is a human's primal programming, shaped by evolution. It differs in men and women, but in both cases guides people towards actions and mate selection that favor their survival as well as the likelihood and quality of their reproduction.
Primitive Instinct hypergamy refers to the regression of female mate selection criteria to pre-civilization times thanks to feminism removing instruction, guidance, and boundaries to women.
Essentially, women are relying on their Primitive Instinct to select males rather than look for male qualities more suitable to modern times, which formerly society had guided her towards.
Explanation
The unconscious mind contains our biological instincts, and shapes our preferences over Sex and Survival. When we feel an instinct of fight or flight when we are challenged, that is our unconscious mind giving us a prompting. The sum of these are collectively our Primitive Instinct.
Much of human progress was possible because man tamed or otherwise managed this powerful but often errant force. Errant because it was shaped by human evolution over 800,000 years. In that time, many things have changed. We have civilization for one thing. The old instincts, untamed, are often catastrophic, such as lacking impulse control and killing someone in anger.
Men and women both have a challenge of their Primitive Instinct wanting to assert itself in mate selection. Men, being drawn to female reproductive qualities, may be physically attracted to a woman with large breasts, well beyond what's necessary to lactate.
Primitive instinct often shapes who men want to have sex with, but men often override this instinct when selecting women for LTRs. Women are influenced by PI in identifying men for sex and LTRs. Women will often seek to have an LTR with an alpha male who is socially dominant (even if he doesn't have a job) whereas a man may seek to have sex with a woman with double D's, but isn't exactly thinking of her as marriage material. So long as he uses protection, following his instinct has fewer long-term consequences than a woman surrendering to her Primitive Instinct mate selection criteria.
The "old rules", as they're sometimes referred to, were society's admonition to women to marry men that would treat them well, had a moral nature, were disciplined and productive. Family assisted in identify such mates. The "old rules" were established to protect women from their Primitive Instinct, but are now discarded as patriarchal in the age of feminism. Today, women largely use Primitive Instinct for mate selection.
