What If? - By Octavian

Being a science fiction fan, one of my talents is being able to recall obscure dialogue from certain films at will.

As such, ill begin the following brief treatise by doing just that.

In the 2002 remake of the Time Machine ( was it really that long ago?!) , Jeremy Irons plays the closest thing the movie has to a villain. In a back and forth with the protagonist, the villain says a topical line :

"You're a man tortured by those two most terrible words. WHAT ....IF..."

That line's stuck with me ever since, largely because everywhere I look, I see people in a state of constant regret. They're always thinking "what if" X happened instead of Y.

Such is the natural reaction of a man when he's been forced to proceed down a course of action not of his own free will. In our modern, matriarchal society, decisions about how many kids and under what circumstances they're conceived and born are no longer determined by the male. When cupcake comes home with the words "Im Late", or a positive pregnancy test, the man's suddenly and painfully aware his life is no longer his own to determine. Worse, he's locked into choices he's forced to make on account of the decisions of someone else.

As I flew to Southern California ( as a passenger, regrettably. Left Seat or Bust!), I observed the airplane full of people, wondering why they weren't happy they're doing something ancient man considered the mark of insanity. The view out my little porthole in coach class wasn't available to Aristotle or Socrates-and to think of where we'd be now if they could! But it didn't take long to understand why my surroundings were so. The women don't care about anything beyond themselves, and the men were too tired because, whatever the circumstance, they were working for some gash. A few lucky guys had some respite at 36,000 ft before reporting to their designated master(s) at LAX.

What if.

For some men, those words are a millstone. For those of us aware of the Desert of the Real, they're words of celebration.

One Beach, Two Men, Three Viewpoints.

In Pulp Fiction, part of the movies charm comes from the dialogue between the characters. In the second cutscene between hitmen Jules and Vincent, the latter breaks down how the same burger sold in America is called a "Royale With Cheese".

An example of how one item can be two different things depending on the viewpoints of the consumer.

And so we come to Santa Monica beach, California. My friend and his wife invited me along for a group trip to the same, and so we went. I observed that as I watched the ocean, the beach, and the sky as aircraft from LAX crossed to and fro, his wife was busy watching me and the other men on the beach. Once she stopped man watching, her next activity was nagging my friend with pointless questions and inquiries unrelated to anything we were doing at the time. Given the irrelevancies of her statements, I ignored her when those comments were directed my way.

I realized, observing the stunning beauty and area I was privileged to experience, that to a female mind none of this had any value. As I looked about and contemplated my small place in the grand scale of the universe, all she likely saw was a chance to shit test her husband some more. We were all there, seeing the same sandwich on the menu- but I was the only one able to really savor the "Royale With Cheese".

My friend was too busy being nagged to appreciate the surroundings, and his wife was always looking for the bigger better deal as all women do instinctually.

Living the Red Pill lifestyle isn't about shunning women, avoiding sex ,or trying to overthrow the social systems which we dislike. It's about stopping to smell the roses, see the views, and being able to appreciate the simple and beautiful joys of life on our own terms, as thinking men. None of that is possible when a female is cracking a whip, or siring discord between men to see who comes out on top for her own base amusement.

If contemplation is unreasonable when confronted with an upraised knife, to paraphrase a US Supreme Court Justice, then such is equally true when a man is confronted with a female presence. Even in a non sexual context, advanced thought is impossible with a woman henpecking on irrelevancies in the background.Image -- © DigitalGenetics / Dollar Photo Club

You also see this defeated dissatisfaction in Suburbia. Suburbia is where a man's dreams go to die. Suburban life is so filled with resentment stemming from the dynamics you pointed out. It is the home of the angry 40/50-something male road-raging in his mini-van because he knows his life isn't as he thought it would be. The human male is neutered and the yoke is applied. Once there, with a family and kids, it is too late. As the domestic bullsh*t and quarrels pile up at home living with the modern woman and her (non-existent) regard for men, the man futilely displaces his rage on people around him, hoping to somehow feel a bit of power in his powerless existence. I'm sure he asks "What if?". And the he stifles it hard with a set of rationalizations before ambivalently concluding, "Yeah, I made the right choice!". He then slams the accelerator of his mini-van off the green light and off he goes!

I'm convinced a mere observation of the hostility between the modern couple within those four walls explains a lot of the dynamics we see in society today, and especially in suburbia.

Really good article Octavian. Really makes you think about the absolute abundance that this current society has and how it has become desensitised.

I had a similar experience when I was flying from London to Berlin, I had a grin from ear to ear from the time I was on the Piccadilly line to when I was at Heathrow. I was literally traveling between two countries in less than a couple of hours and I would be eating bratwurst in Berlin for dinner tonight. Yet most of the people at the airport reminded me more of sheep, they are ferried from place to place and the significance of where they are is lost on them. It seemed like they had no joy in their lives where for me it was a real experience, I had lunch at the airport and I even had a scotch and coke on the plane as I was reading the paper. How they couldn't find the simple pleasure in that I won't ever know.

Even in your local supermarket, there is more food from more places in this one shop than even the royal families of Europe would have ever seen or had access to. Living in Australia, I can get cheese from France, olives from Italy, apricots from Turkey, vodka from Russia and salmon from Canada, I can also get a hundred varieties of pasta as well. Yet because we are so accustomed to it, it seems less impressive.

As one who has lived 10+ years in provincial Mexico, let me tell you that you sure miss it when it's not there!

I relate! In the introduction to my book I stated a friend of mine had a shotgun marriage to a verbally abusive women, in truth that was my father who I saw undergo nonstop questions from my mom. These nagging questions stuck inside my brain and I began to hate them as I aged. Time made me realize my father was under constant scrutiny and pressure his entire life! And well, that anger ... the nagging and complaining, bickering was the engine that drove me for almost 3 years until the book was done.

Women nag far too much! And men do overlook it all?

    Truth, nicely obsererved too..thanks.

I like to look around and absorb, everything I see is a wonder of nature or industry. I'm never bored I see the industry and imagine the lives that went into the most mundane things that get by-passed and taken for granted, the plastics, metals, woods, factories, deals and wars that took place and the evolution of the earth and its creatures that brought us to here and now with all of this stuff and to witness the ignorance, dismissiveness and oblivion of the herd is quite sad but equally impressive in its horrible massiveness.

I'm really glad someone else is aware of this negative cancer that females like to spread.

This reminds me of a time i was out hiking once, and my {now ex} gf called me. While sitting next to a pond, a beautiful deer came along and started drinking, so i lowered my voice as to not scare her away. Wouldnt you know, the bitchy gf was screaming "fuck the stupid deer, i want to talk {meaning fight} right now!". I just hung up on her and shut off my phone for the rest of the day.

It's hard to appreciate beauty when some evil whore is deliberately trying to ruin it, but that's what it's all about.. making sure the man in her life is miserable because she can never find happiness in anything. She mineaswell have said "Fuck the stupid deer, the universe revolves around MMEEEEE!!!!"

Wishing I could Thumbs-up some of these comments. Clearly people are relating to this article very well, myself included.

On an opposite note - because I don't see it represented here - A LONG time ago (purple pill):

While in the boarding area of DIA, flying into LAX, like you, I saw one of the most amazing female forms I had seen in a long time. Well dressed. Most likely highly successful & educated. Perhaps even a business person. I couldnt resist introducing myself. After all, it was a very public area, and she couldn't make any false claims with so many people around.

Now, I don't live in LA, so I was surprised to learn we were both connecting through to a mutual destination. I could read her well, and her interest level went off the charts -- as did mine. We talked on the plane as well.

Exiting the concourse I gave her my business card & vice-versa, and gave her a clear signal that I was interested. She did the same, but then she did a 180 degree about face on her "interest in me" as we neared the exit towards ticketing & baggage claim.

Now alarm bells were going off BIG TIME - she was afraid someone was waiting for her, & would see her with me!! My suspicions were confirmed within just a few emails: She was in a relationship & was looking for MORE. If it ended up just being action on the side, she wouldnt mind two-timing "her man"

Push come to shove, I was seeing Hypergamy in action (once again) and cut off all contact.

What I felt like doing was doing the research to find out about her hubby, and informing him, but I really didnt know how to go about doing it.

This is the thing that really made me see the merits of the MGTOW lifestyle. I personally am too sociable, and for another thing have much too high a libido to make ghosting possible. It's this being intelligent about human behavior and being able to apply that to keep yourself sane that really appealed to me.

I now realize that women are just a pain in the ass to deal with, and it is not because we're men, not because they're women, but because of how they're influenced in maintaining such vulgar behavior.

Being a science fiction fan, for me, is being motivated to write the Story of Harry Potter after the war with Voldemort. Which includes his problems that comes in life with the wars and rising fame and power followed by betrayals by wives and friends.
