Overview: Talk about: poker nights, video games, travel, lifting, books you're reading, that great anime you watched, sports you're doing, hobbies, philosophy, and on and on. It could be practical things like: working on cars, welding, or carpentry. Or it could be something mundane like a movie review or about getting organized through a system like 'Getting Things Done' by David Allen. This is all time that we're not lugging cupcake's shopping bags around the mall or getting kicked in the shins by a toddler – this is real living. There's no need for machismo (“a real man knows how to...”), showboating, or playing up our own lifestyles – just sharing the best life has to offer with fellow brothers on the forum.

Advice: Stories make a good way of sharing your interest with other people. A Saturday out mountain biking. Pictures help- especially because others may not be as familiar with your sport/interest as you are. How-to's are great: IE- "How to use the Video Roulette in Vegas to get your Rooms Comped". "Living the best life" is your opportunity to connect with people with similar passions, but also talk about the interesting stuff you're upto to people unskilled in the art, who may want to learn. We have time that other men don't. Eventually, we'll take some solid how-to's and post them in a sub-forum for guys interested in learning about and trying new things. Last: this doesn't just have to do with hobbies. It could be about career, friends, how to save money, interesting books you read/are reading, or pretty much anything else that makes life interesting or better.

Jagr, you should try and import the travel thread on ForumNation. For places where we would rather be!

Not quite getting your point. Granted, I may be a bit slow from modding and configuring VBulletin.

Pizza. Get good at it, not buying it frozen, not calling take out, get good at it yourself.

Admittedly, I'm a tad anal when it comes to exploring a new endeavor, but making a decent really good pizza is a skill that will pay back in spades. Guys nite making pizzas while watching playoffs, impressing and bedding a babe, fun for the kids (if any) when they come over, you get the idea.

So, how to do? pizzamaking.com is a great start and where I found out about the single best gadget for making a great pie. There's this one guy who must own a machine shop and he makes this insert that you put into a gas grill. Made out of heavy steel boilerplate with a pair of internal pizza stones top and bottom. Pizza is placed between the stones and 90 seconds later, the most perfect pizza emerges. I use a hand held IR thermometer to check on temps and it easily hits 900 degrees F.

When you cook at this high temp, the dough used is not all that important since it generally 'rises' from the heat super boiling the internal dough moisture. You can make dough day the before or even minutes before, results are good either way and if you want you can fiddle with different doughs and get all expert on it.

Different toppings work well here, thin sliced potato is good as well as the usual 'schrooms, sausage etc. Here's some pix of what this grill gadget looks like and a few of a pizza making

Geez, like I didn't have enough hobbies and I now have a pizza craving, too! Damn it, I need to look at creating a pizza oven!

FOOD! Hell yeah!!! It is a big part of LIFE. MGTOW should become totally involved, & expand our horizons.

Last night I made kung pao chicken on rice. WOW WOW WOW. Make it as zippy or as mild as you like. And it is VERY healthy; lots of veggies, lean meat, & just a dab of rice. HOW: allrecipes . com

Best Life Guide: Don't Drink!! Instead live life to the fullest by being active !!!

Cro-Magnon :

I agree with that. Hardly drink at all now, and I'm much happier for it.

I got a cider press this summer and have been juicing some apples from a local orchard. I let it ferment out for about 4-5 weeks and finally got around to bottling it this weekend. Tastes pretty good for a first attempt I think! I believe you guys might call this stuff "hard cider" in the states.

Juice appears brown when first pressed due to oxidation:

Fermentation just beginning after adding some champaign yeast - you can also see a lot of the sediment has fallen to the bottom:

Final bottled product - it still needs to mature for about 6 months to a year:

It's really very simple. Live your life on your own terms, whatever they may be. But don't rule out listening to other people's opinions. They may know something you don't.

LuckyAustrian :

Cool, so i am not the only one crushing apples.

I do not drink alcohol which includes hard cidar, but after having learnt how store-bought vinegar is made (nasty stuff..) and doing quite some canning I decided to put the old things to use to make my own apple vinegar.

First i make cider and than move the done cider into the barrels containing the vinegar bacteria.
Better than anything store bought too.

Once i friend persuaded me to put my cider into a competition .. and I won bronze

I have a press that is at least over 200 years old and the machine crushing the apples is not that younger but got electrified maybe 60 years ago with a real scary combination of a huge electrical motor and a real leather transmission belt driving a huge wooden wheel that once was turned by hand.

The huge beam on top connects the press to a big stone weighing ap. a half ton that can be winched up, with that leverage there is enormous but "slow" pressure on the apples. New hydraulic presses do not get a better end result, at the same time my slow press really takes the flavors from the apples.

Works fine .. so why change it, this is the sweet fresh pressed apple juice that comes out of that press.

The cellar is good for making cider but too cold for vinegar production so i keep the barrels in the already renovated but unused former pig-sty that I kinda kept functioning for maybe not so good times.

It is interesting stuff and could be another income source in the future (sorry for my pessimist view)

Well... things that make life interesting are also asked for ?

Hmm .. how about some travel pictures.

I am not a great traveller in private, my home is just to nice to leave it, but I do quite some business travel which I like way more as the costs are paid by somebody else

This week I went to Hannover in Germany for 2 days.

Interesting cloud formations:

Met many people from the whole planet and had some nice conversations and had some fun.
When I entered some chinese companies booth I started conversation in business english....
The younger chinese guy (obviously the chinese to german translator) listened, started to smile broadly and talked back to me
in german and in the broadest austrian accent you can imagine.

He is a student at an university just 50km from my home and speaks the same accent than I do.

We austrians are way better than the germans (lol) .. but we can not make a Currywurst right if our life depended on it.
So I was really glad to get my hands on some real Currywurst, one of the best I ever had in my life too.

Maybe the char-coal grill is the reason it was so delicious ?
Those swing-grills are completely unheard of in my area and are a northern germany tradition as I got to know by talking to some of the people while eating but the resulting Wust just blew me away.
I have to get one of those for my own little grilling adventures at home.

Had some seafood in the evening (damn .. why does austria has no sea next to it ???) and slept in some quite cool renovated but old quarter.

I am a little bit drained now so today I will chill the rest of the day and maybe play some (Guitar Hero with Keyboard = Synthesia) in the evening.

So lurkers ... this is the MGTOW life .. kinda sad and pathetic compared to the guy married with 2 kids, a house to pay off and a leased car though.

TheRecipe :

Amazing press! I think I need to get one of those apple crushing machines, I spent a good couple of hours smashing up apples with a wooden fence post last time!

LuckyAustrian :

One guy I know who does burn some spirits as hobby just uses a big Kenwood Chef he bough used to crush the fruits, without the seeds of course.
I have also seen modded 99€ garden shredders, the cheap ones with a spinning stainless steel disk, for the same purpose on a larger scale.

Excellence in Play!!!
It takes your life to a whole new level ~

I'd recommend buying & configuring a Van, Minivan, Microbus, Pickup Truck, or Cargo Trailer into a play vehicle. Throw in a stove, water container, shave kit, & a Bed. BLAM: a home on wheels. Add solar if you want to be off-grid for a long period of time.

My current unit is a Large Van: I can haul / carry any number of toys out into the world, and then sleep in the van for weeks at a time. FREEDOM!

How will you configure your play-machine? For one or more of the following?:
- Surfing*
- Sup'ing
- Kite-Boarding
- Cycling (road &/or mtn)*
- Motorcycling (track days, dirt, multi-day trips)*
- Drifting (track days)
- Fishing
- Camping*
- Scuba*
- Mountaineering*
- Rock climbing*
- Backpacking*
- Geocaching
- Running*
- Couchsurfing*
- Snowbird'ing*
- Kayaking*
- Swimming*
- Rafting*
- Boat towing (fishing, skiing, boarding)
- Cross-country touring*
- Photography*
- Snow skiing, boarding, snowshoeing
- Job Interviewing*

* If it is starred, I've done it from a overnight rig.

BeijaFlor :

So why haven't you done geocaching from your overnight rig? You could have gotten out to my neck of the woods and scored my Godzilla's Lunchbox cache. Too bad the original Project APE cache nearby has been long-since muggled, but you would have learned more about GPS than you might care to know. (Insert evil grin here)

Good Question!!! Guess I'm just a Flailer .... lol
